NLA International vs. Living In Leather
A very big thank you to our supporters who already donated to us. We know many of you have needs, so your donations matter to us. After our dissolution, all funds were transferred to the LA&M to create a strong archive of the NLA International, and its significant historical impacts.

NLA International had a rich history of projects throughout its years. They led in large scale events providing workshops, vendor markets, and speakers that were duplicated by others. They even had an international contest circuit once.
We published statements on censorship, consent, and legislation.
Today, they no longer exist, but they once focused their energy on the core things that have always made up the NLA. They focused on awarding excellence, establishing grass-root clubs, helping others create educational events, and teaching others the difference between abuse and BDSM.
LEGACY
We offered several types of memberships. Commercial, Affiliate, and Independent Member. We also offered discounts to those Commercial and Affiliate members that agree to provide a discount to our general membership. Our desire was to help their company or association succeed and to be supported by our members.

We were always looking year around for authors, artists, and activists to consider for our annual LIL Awards.
We initially started with very basic person awards in 1987. We then expanded our awards in 2006 to encompass writers. In 2019, the NLA Board agreed to expand those awards once again to focus on artists as well. The idea was that by doing so, we would recognize excellence across our entire culture. Authors, artists, and activist.

Other ways to GIVE
In the past, you could purchase items within our shop and even make a donation in the name of someone special.
Donations for DVP, or LIL Awards were always needed and tax deductible. In our shop, you could purchase extra pins, patches, and other items to demonstrate your support for our causes. You could even pre-purchase a membership for someone special in your life.
